dbt-aces
Accepting the Challenges of Exiting the System
DBT ACES is an advanced DBT skills class. The class meets weekly, following a similar format to standard DBT: 2 hour skills class, continue weekly therapy, utilize diary card, weekly homework, one year of class.
Requirements for participation are:
1. Completed one year of DBT skills class
2. Free of target behavior for three months
3. Developed an understanding of DBT skills
4. Demonstrate use of skills in daily life
5. Willingness to continue growth
There are 12 modules, each being 4 weeks long. The ACES program lasts for one year. Modules are created to target common issues and barriers to success seen in clients after completing standard DBT (ex: depression management, problem solving, creating a support system, and mindfulness).
